Nursing Manager, RPN

Reporting to the Director of Resident Services, this role is responsible for the delivery of resident-focused care and services in a 24/7 environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement facility-wide initiatives and develop departmental standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Foster a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to resident care.
  • Ensure a professional working environment with appropriate education and training for staff.
  • Ensure a safe work environment and compliance with OH&S standards.
  • Manage and supervise staff, including hiring, training, and discipline.
  • Facilitate Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) tools and techniques.
  • Ensure staff compliance with professional and legislative requirements.
  • Manage resources effectively and monitor quality and risk indicators.
  • Act as an expert resource and participate in committees.
Requirements:
  • Diploma in nursing and active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Experience working in a long-term care home in a supervisory role.
  • Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Continuing education in Pain and Palliation, PIECES, and Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the Long-Term Care Homes Act and Occupational Health & Safety Act is a must.
  • Certification in workplace investigations is an asset.
  • Understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Long Term Care Homes Act, and related regulations.
  • Commitment to resident/client safety.
  • Vulnerable Sector Screening is required.
  • Ability to speak Italian is an asset.
