Position Overview:


Reporting to the ERP Project Manager, the ERP Business Process Officer provides technical expertise, analysis, training, and implementation services related to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.

The objective of this role is to ensure business and operational processes are optimized with digital tools are seamlessly integrated, data is harmonized, and systems communicate effectively without disrupting business continuity.

The ERP Business Process Officer works with business owners and managers, end-users, and technicians to help implement the ERP system, including creating reports, analyzing data.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement processes for making ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solutions work for the organization.
  • Develop plans and strategies for ERP implementation based on organizational requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage implementation efforts in conjunction with project teams.
  • Assist with system requirements and vendor selection.
  • Develop strategies, plans, and budgets for ERP solutions.
  • Manage ERP implementation and post implementation activities.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce system policies, processes/procedures, and standards.
  • Develop and execute testing programs, identifying areas of improvement and optimization to support successful implementation.
  • Lead the development of a training program, working with service areas, that support both super users and end users.
  • Act on behalf of the ERP Project Manager as required.
Essential Qualifications:

Experience implementing large, complex projects leading teams and overseeing creation of work products; achieve goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


Excellent interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills; be able to communicate, negotiate, and motivate effectively at all levels of the organization.

Sound knowledge of business process mapping and project management practices including planning, execution, and control.


Exposure to ERP systems including financial, procurement, supply chain management, human resources, and payroll functions; familiarity with other local government ERP processes is an asset.

Ability to work independently and adapt to completing priorities and time constraints. management.

A broad understanding of the services delivered by the City of Saint John (both public-facing and internal services) and the opportunities and challenges facing the community would be considered an asset.


Education:


Undergraduate degree in business, engineering, computer science, information technology, project management or related discipline that matches the skills required to perform the job responsibilities.

Certification in project management would be considered an asset.

Experience:
A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible project work-related experience.

Preference will be given to candidates that demonstrate experience in conducting training, group facilitation, continuous improvement (with a recognized certification) and/or project management.

A broad understanding of the services delivered by the City of Saint John (both public-facing and internal services) and the opportunities and challenges facing the community would be considered an asset.


The successful applicant will be eligible to work a compressed work week of 4 days (Monday to Thursday) throughout the trial period of the City's recently adopted Compressed Work Week Trial.
