Configuration Management Specialist role involves ensuring accurate product configurations and implementing changes in accordance with contractual requirements and QA standards.

L3Harris Technologies is a leading provider of advanced optical sensor and targeting systems for global defense and military sectors. The company's WESCAM division develops mission-critical systems that enable customers to see first and act first.

The Configuration Management Specialist will be responsible for facilitating CM boards, analyzing proposed changes, and implementing approved changes into the product. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review proposed changes and ensure contractual requirements are fulfilled
  • Perform impact analysis and assign proper ECR category and class of change
  • Ensure proposed changes are fully developed and assessed from a CM perspective
  • Schedule and facilitate CM board meetings
  • Compile change implementation plans and schedules
  • Audit change packages to ensure continuity between old and new datasets
  • Ensure accurate traceability of product configurations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies related to serialization
  • Interface with internal customers to coordinate priorities and issue resolution
  • Support CM procedures maintenance and departmental projects

Required Capabilities:

  • Ability to interpret engineering documentation and product structures
  • Ability to create and manage detailed project schedules
  • Independent judgment and analytical skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of self-motivation and initiative
  • Working knowledge of automated CM tools

Desired Education and Experiences:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience in Configuration Management
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience in Configuration Management
  • Complete understanding and application of Configuration Management functions and principles
  • CMII or CMPIC certification or other CM related Certification an asset
