INTRODUCTION

Spiri Robotics, a leading developer of autonomous robots and artificial intelligence, is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team at our Halifax, NS location in the role of Finance Coordinator. This position plays a crucial role in supporting our growing company by handling essential day-to-day financial and inventory tasks, coordinating with the external accounting firm, and ensuring smooth operations in these areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Finance

  • Handle day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions and maintaining financial records.
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Liaising with the public accounting firm to provide necessary financial information for tax preparation, audits, and financial reporting.
  • Assisting with payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.
  • Performing bank reconciliations and other financial reconciliations as needed.
  • Supporting general administrative tasks related to finance and operations.

Inventory Management

  • Oversee and maintain accurate records of inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to manage stock levels, track stock levels and coordinating orders.
  • Support our procurement policy and procedures, including identifying qualified suppliers.

Record Management

  • Organize and maintain a systematic naming, tagging, and filing system for records.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive information.

Schedule Management

  • Coordinate schedules for senior team members, meetings, and events.
  • Assist in making travel arrangements and event planning.

QUALIFICATIONS

Finance

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
  • Knowledge of Canada accounting principles and practices.
  • At least, 3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with financial software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Understanding of budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Familiarity with payroll processing and employee reimbursement procedures.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with external accounting firms.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.

Inventory Management

  • Experience in inventory management and control.
  • Understanding of inventory tracking systems.
  • Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with procurement policies and procedures.

Record Management

  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of record-keeping best practices.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information securely.
  • Familiarity with electronic document management systems.

Schedule Management

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience in scheduling and calendar management.
  • Ability to coordinate meetings and events efficiently.

WORK CONDITIONS

  • Job Type: Full-time
