PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

This key role will audit the Engineering Department's expenses for unionized employees in Canada and the US.

The role will advance education and compliance in the area of personal expenses under the terms of the Collective Agreement provisions governing expense reimbursement.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Interpret and apply Collective Agreements in connection with Expenses
  • Review & analyze expense reports and claims
  • Identify trends and develop appropriate solutions
  • Create & maintain audit-related reporting
  • Identify process improvement opportunities
  • Liaise with operating officers regarding expense claims
  • Prepare and issue directives/educational bulletins regarding the application of the Collective Agreement and expense process requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post Secondary education and/or relevant experience
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in Labour Relations and/or auditing
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Skilled in process development and improvement
  • Proficient in Excel and more generally MS Office Suite, SAP ECC, including expense reports, time entry, and master data
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Dedicated work ethic, able to meet deadlines independently
  • Ability to build positive relationships and influence across all organizational levels
  • Familiarity with Railway Engineering Services; an asset
  • Knowledge of Collective Agreements and expense reimbursement policies; an asset
  • Experience with Fiori and Concur Expense Tool; an asset

Management Conductor Program:
