About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Financial Policy Specialist to join our team at BMO. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about finance and policy to make a real impact in our organization.

Job Summary

The Senior Financial Policy Specialist will be responsible for ensuring high-risk/complex accounting transactions are compliant with accounting regulations and financial information is disclosed appropriately in the Bank's financial statements. This role requires a strong research mindset, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $74,800 - $138,600 per year. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and standards
  • Analyze financial data to inform business decisions
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve financial management
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to achieve business objectives
  • Act as a trusted advisor to assigned business groups
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a related field
  • A post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Deep knowledge and technical proficiency in finance and accounting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
