Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Grocery Associate to join our team at Walmart Canada. As a Grocery Associate, you will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and assisting with the sale of goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Zoning the department to ensure a visually appealing and easy-to-navigate shopping experience for customers.
  • Rotating stock and checking for expired products to maintain a high level of product freshness and quality.
  • Ensuring merchandise is properly signed and priced to prevent errors and maintain accuracy.
  • Adhering to food safety and handling procedures, as well as sanitation and cleaning procedures, to maintain a clean and safe store environment.
  • Following proper procedures for ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels to ensure efficient and accurate inventory management.
  • Ensuring the department is fully stocked with merchandise and is ready for business to meet customer needs.
  • Following Health and Safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Stocking merchandise, picking, and downstocking as needed, while applying product protection when required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a cash register.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are preferred but not required:

  • Previous retail or customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and stock rotation procedures.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
