Shared Health is seeking a highly skilled Power Engineer to join our Central Energy Plant Management team. As a Power Engineer, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of high-pressure boilers, refrigeration compressors, air compressors, diesel engines, and generators.

Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong background in power engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain high-pressure boilers, refrigeration compressors, air compressors, diesel engines, and generators
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment
  • Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic tests to identify and resolve equipment issues
  • Collaborate with other engineers and technicians to ensure smooth plant operations
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years' experience as an Engineer in charge of a shift in a first-class plant
  • Experience with instrumentation and operating experience with electrical and electronic industrial controls
  • Valid and current Manitoba Second Class Power Engineer Certificate
  • Preference will be given to applicants with a license as an Instrument Technician, Millwright, Pipefitter, or Electrician
Working Conditions
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with high temperatures, humidity, and noise
  • Must take extreme care in performance of tasks as in close contact with exposed high-temperature piping, rotating equipment, and high voltages
