Telesat is seeking a creative, accomplished storyteller to develop compelling short- and long-form narratives across B2B and B2G integrated marketing campaigns. This is a role for a non-managing professional that will be a key player in shaping the company's brand narrative, creating impactful content that resonates with our target B2B and B2G audiences to drive prospect engagement. This will be accomplished by using Content products for outbound e-mail campaigns, e-books, case studies, white papers, web copy, social media and more. This role requires a bilingual (English/French) writer who considers and understands various buyer personas, their perspectives and pain points, and can create content that articulates value at each stage of the buying journey.Responsibilities: Collaboration and Content Strategy
  • Build relationships and work collaboratively with product, product marketing, market intelligence, and sales teams to understand business goals; develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy aligned with Telesat's business objectives.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of our prospective audiences and design compelling content against these personas
  • Identify key themes, topics and differentiated messaging that resonates with our audience segments
  • Create the marketing content calendar; deliverables may include infographics, whitepapers, web copy, collateral, social media posts, outbound emails, digital advertising, customer newsletters, eBooks, and more.
Responsibilities: Content Creation
  • Interview Telesat subject matter experts, monitor competitor content positioning and value propositions, and keep up with industry trends to develop unique and differentiated messaging and content
  • Grasp and translate technical capabilities into simple, compelling messages
  • Conduct content reviews with internal stakeholders to ensure optimal quality and credibility
  • Work collaboratively with internal graphics team to complete final design, ensuring compliance with Telesat's style brand guidelines
  • Copyedit and review content as requested for other content creators for SEO value, style and brand consistency
  • Leverage content repurposing, syndication and paid social to expand audience reach
Responsibilities: Audience Engagement
  • Optimize content for SEO and user experience
  • Work with marketing campaigns team to track content performance and optimize content to improve results
Education and Required Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or journalism, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in brand journalism, content marketing or similar roles, with experience in the B2B technology space
  • Bilingual English/French speaker, writer and grammarian
  • Proven ability to interview subject matter experts, originate story ideas and translate them into effective content assets
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills, capable of driving consensus among multiple stakeholders
  • Highly motivated self-starter who can multitask, prioritize, and quickly adapt to changing timelines or priorities
  • Cultural competence required to tailor content to global audiences
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
