We are seeking a detail-oriented Public Area Attendant to maintain the cleanliness and presentation of our hotel premises.

The Public Area Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring the hotel's public areas are clean and welcoming for guests.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for cleaning public areas, washrooms, and other service areas, while promoting a positive image of the property.

The Public Area Attendant will work independently and as part of a team to maintain a high level of cleanliness and customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will be physically able to perform all duties of the position and have excellent time management skills.

The Public Area Attendant will be responsible for reporting maintenance and safety hazards, as well as responding to guest inquiries and complaints.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and positive team attitude, with excellent communication skills in English.

The Public Area Attendant will work a varied schedule, including early morning, evening, and late night shifts, as well as weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean public areas, washrooms, and other service areas to a high standard.
  • Report maintenance and safety hazards to the supervisor/manager.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and complaints in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Record lost property items and provide them to the supervisor/manager.
  • Take personal responsibility for equipment and ensure it is operated correctly and secure at all times.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all chemicals and cleaning products and the correct handling procedures.
  • Attend departmental briefings, training, and meetings as directed by the supervisor/manager.
  • Report any unusual or suspicious persons/activities happening in the area of security to the manager.
  • Responsible for replacing and reporting missing items in a public area.
Requirements:
  • Must be able to provide a clean criminal record check.
  • Physically able to perform all duties of the position.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and written in English.
  • Comfortable with using common household chemicals.
  • First Aid/CPR preferred.
Work Environment:
  • Able to stand and walk repeatedly over the course of a shift.
  • Ability to tolerate exposures to heat, cold, and water.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, there may be stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, and crouching.
  • Regularly exposed to including but not limited to contaminants, industrial cleaning chemicals, and dust and dirt.
