Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, Absolute Return, we are currently seeking a Senior Analyst or an Associate Portfolio Manager to join the Quantitative team responsible of the systematic portfolio of the TCC Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund. The incumbent will contribute to the implementation of the investment strategy by doing quantitative research with respect to various investment opportunities.

The candidate will choose TCC because of its collaborative work environment, its innovative approach to asset management, the sophistication and diversification of its investment strategies, its growth potential, the tight-knit relationship amongst the investment teams and the competitiveness of its total compensation package.

This is a hybrid position requiring at least 3 days per week at our office downtown Montreal.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and continuously improve quantitative models to establish effective trading signals, supporting fundamental analysis across equity, commodities, credit, FX, volatility, and fixed income markets using both listed and OTC derivatives.
  • Assist in developing and proposing trade recommendations for systematic strategies.
  • Support the portfolio construction process, ensuring alignment with the fund's strategic goals and risk tolerance.
  • Support the execution of daily trades, ensuring accuracy and adherence to the defined strategies.
  • Help monitor and report on the performance of the quantitative portfolio, providing input for strategic adjustments.
  • Assist in communication with counterparties and in maintaining strategic relationships.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in quantitative finance, technology, and market practices, and share relevant insights with the team.
  • Act as a resource person for the investment team, providing analysis and recommendations as required.
  • All other tasks required by the position.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in finance, mathematics, actuarial science, or other related field
  • Excellent understanding of derivative products
  • At ease at manipulating large amount of data and understanding sophisticated investment models
  • At ease with advanced mathematics
  • Good programming skills, ideally with Python and SQL
  • CFA, FRM and/or other professional designation is an asset
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg and other investment database and systems
  • Proven track record of successful portfolio management experience is an asset
  • Ability to keep his/her knowledge up to date and aware of the latest developments and trends in portfolio management
