Purpose

In collaboration with the other members of the team, the buyer's main mission is to proactively manage the company's procurement. The buyer selects suppliers and ensures that the best purchasing conditions are negotiated while respecting the planning.

Targeted objectives
  • To strategically carry out purchases in accordance with planning and priorities,
  • Develop a professional relationship of trust with suppliers,
  • Support internal customers in their daily needs.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Purchasing:

  • Negotiate the purchase of goods and services,
  • Obtain bids from various suppliers,
  • Research products and services and be able to find alternatives when needed,
  • Prepare and process purchase orders,
  • Enter purchase orders into the ERP system (Quantum).

Purchasing Efficiency:

  • Build estimates from material lists recommended by production;
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with suppliers and colleagues;
  • Maintain up-to-date status of open and upcoming orders in support of operations,
  • Contribute to maintaining a standard inventory level;
  • Generate and prepare performance measurement reports (KPI) on inventory level forecast, supplier performance, etc.
  • Facilitate seamless communication with the accounting department to prevent any discrepancies in invoices or payments.
Ideal profile:
  • Certificate or Bachelor's degree in purchasing, operations management, business administration, or any other relevant training,
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience to successfully meet the challenges of this position,
  • Experience in aerospace and MRO purchasing (considerable asset),
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook),
  • Proficient with Quantum software, or other ERP systems,
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail,
  • Good organizational and planning skills,
  • Strong communication skills,
  • Customer oriented; Proactive in problem solving,
  • Initiative, resourcefulness, and a sense of accountability,
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Bilingual (French and English) spoken and written.
