Queen Margaret's School seeks a qualified candidate to assist in the development and delivery of planned activities for After School Activity Club participants (aged 5-9) between 3:00 and 5:00 pm on school days.

Applicants must embrace the ethos of an independent school education, develop positive relationships with students, and contribute to a collaborative learning community.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and promote on-site and off-site activities for students
  • Participate in planned physical sports or events/activities
  • Maintain knowledge of students' whereabouts
  • Escalate discipline issues as needed

Qualifications:

  • Must be 19 or older
  • Familiarity with child development and needs
  • Experience working with large groups of students
  • A cheerful disposition and passion to engage students in their development and growth
  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
  • Ability to manage emergent situations and take decisive action
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve common goals and positive results
  • Adaptability to changing situations
  • Understanding of appropriate boundaries

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with children
  • Emergency First Aid/Childcare Emergency First Aid or higher
  • Class 4 Driver's License and clean driver's abstract

Working Conditions:

  • 3:00 to 5:00 pm when school is in session
