About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager to join our team at Boralex, a leading player in the renewable energy sector. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a vital role in the execution of strategic solar projects and contribute to the development of our procurement organization.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement or strategic sourcing, with experience in executing large complex contracts in a large industrial company. You will possess excellent project management skills, a proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders, and experience in the energy sector, particularly in solar energy technology.

As a Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for organizing and leading Boralex's procurement of key equipment and services, with a focus on supporting the execution of our solar projects. You will work closely with various groups within Boralex, including development and project management teams, to identify and seek competitive advantages by partnering with world-class suppliers in the solar energy industry.

Key responsibilities will include leading market intelligence, providing expert recommendations to internal stakeholders, working with development and project management teams on project schedules and budgets, and negotiating commercial terms of deals for purchasing major equipment and services.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in administration, engineering, or equivalent
  • At least 10 years of experience in an industrial company, preferably in the energy or construction sector
  • Experience in leading contract negotiation and contract management of contracts with a value of over $10 million
  • Experience in the utility-scale solar projects execution
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in multi-functional projects implementation
  • Experience working in or with global international business
  • Good project-management skills and experience in it
  • High level of negotiation skills
  • Strong user of Microsoft Suite
  • Team-player, ability to work effectively under pressure
  • High proficiency in French is highly desired. Knowledge in Mandarin Chinese is an asset
