We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our team in a casual capacity, providing person-centered care to outpatients in an outpatient setting.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in our Ambulatory Care/GI Clinic, you will provide direct individualized nursing care to patients with varying complexities of illness, requiring minor surgical procedures, diagnostic endoscopy procedures, or interventional therapeutic endoscopic procedures.

  • Assess patients and collect information from various sources, making a nursing diagnosis and determining the need for nursing interventions.
  • Observe patient acuity and intervene as necessary, resolving problems or emergency situations by planning and performing nursing interventions.
  • Assist physicians with therapeutic interventions, assembling and maintaining procedure equipment.
  • Collaborate with patients and families/caregivers in developing care plans, establishing a therapeutic relationship and advocating for patient rights.
  • Participate in care and discharge planning, coordinating nursing care and making referrals as necessary.
  • Document assessments, nursing diagnoses, interventions, and patient outcomes according to practice standards and Fraser Health procedures.
Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing and current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Two (2) years recent relevant clinical experience in the designated clinical area and completion of post-graduate coursework and/or certification applicable to the designated clinical area.
