Job Overview
The Claims Supervisor plays a critical role in leading our claims team to achieve key business goals and customer service standards. This position requires a strong leader who can provide guidance, coaching, and support to staff and specialists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a consistent claims experience
- Coordinate and supervise daily activities of the claims team
- Provide guidance and leadership to staff and specialists
- Manage service levels by organizing, distributing, and monitoring workflow to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity
- Conduct employee development and performance management through coaching and feedback
- Provide training and support for staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of progressive insurance adjusting experience
- Proficiency in English and French is required
- College or university degree preferred
- Chartered Insurance Professional Designation and a desire to continue relevant industry education
- Call center experience is an asset
- Excellent customer service skills, including empathy and concern for customers
- Excellent communication, investigative, and analytical skills
- Highly proficient time management and organizational skills
- Excellent knowledge of policy wordings, corporate guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Ability to coach, guide, and positively motivate employees
- Excellent knowledge of automobile, habitational, farm, and commercial policies
- Excellent knowledge of medical and legal terminology
- Detail-oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry
- Exceptional negotiation skills
