About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Coordinator to join our team at EllisDon. As an HSE Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, subcontractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety Orientation and Training: Develop and implement comprehensive safety orientation programs for new employees and subcontractors, ensuring they understand our safety policies and procedures.
  • Job Site Inspections and Hazard Identification: Conduct regular job site inspections to identify potential hazards and take corrective action to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Accident and Injury Reporting: Investigate and report all accidents and injuries, implementing measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards, including those related to WHMIS, Fall Protection, and Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Training and Development: Organize and conduct training programs for employees and subcontractors on safety procedures and protocols.
  • Joint Health and Safety Committee: Participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings and inspections, working collaboratively with employees and subcontractors to identify and address safety concerns.
Requirements
  • Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety supervision role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards in Ontario, Canada.
  • Certifications: Possession of or working towards the National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certificate.
  • Leadership and Communication: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and delegate to others to ensure safety protocols are followed.
