Community Occupational Therapist Fraser Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Community Occupational Therapist to join our team in Abbotsford, B.C. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work with adult clients in community mental health centers to support their occupational performance and well-being. **Job Summary** * Provide direct and indirect specialized occupational therapy services to clients in community mental health centers * Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide individual and group interventions to support clients' occupational performance and recovery * Collaborate with inter-professional team members to determine recovery priorities and goals * Provide education and support to clients, families, and other healthcare professionals on occupational therapy services and psychosocial rehabilitation approaches **Responsibilities** * Screen and assess clients' functional capacity, occupational performance, and environmental supports to make appropriate referrals * Conduct home assessments and community visits as required * Analyze and review assessment results with clients to determine a course of action * Provide verbal and written assessment reports to case managers and other relevant stakeholders * Assist clients and agencies to determine the best method of achieving desired results * Provide individual and group treatment to selected clients * Identify resources required for treatment and initiate funding requests * Provide education and training to mental health and substance use program staff * Apply psychosocial rehabilitation approaches to facilitate clients' effective entry and participation in psychosocial rehabilitation, education, employment, and leisure programs **Qualifications** * Current full registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC * Two (2) years' recent related experience working in a community mental health and/or substance use setting * Valid B.C. Class V Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business purposes * Demonstrated knowledge of current psychiatric rehabilitation, psychosocial approaches, and recovery practices * Ability to use activity analysis to assess occupational performance and modify the activity, environment, or supports to enable occupation * Ability to operate related equipment such as computers and software applications * Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a community team setting, as well as independently * Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and other members of the healthcare team and community agencies **About Fraser Health** Fraser Health is a leading healthcare provider in British Columbia, serving over 2 million people in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.
