Key Responsibilities- Support the development and implementation of occupational safety, health, and wellbeing strategies in conjunction with client organizations.
- Collaborate with client teams to implement and maintain OSHW programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct focused integrated functional assurance reviews to ensure best practice is being implemented consistently across all applicable projects.
- Champion transformational occupational safety, health, and wellbeing initiatives and drive their implementation with alliance partners.
- Support a dynamic lesson learnt and business improvement process for occupational safety, health, and wellbeing across the program.
- Produce required reports and input data for reporting, ensuring timely and accurate information.
- Assure the delivery of occupational safety, health, and wellbeing initiatives internally with the MCS team and with the client.
- Develop best practice guides, training, presentations, and briefing packages, and deliver to appropriate target audiences.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of jobsites, public areas, and adjacent thereto, taking necessary and timely corrective actions to eliminate unsafe acts or conditions.
- Report violations of compliance or regulatory standards to project interested parties as appropriate or required.
- Collect reports required for records and evaluations of performance of safety programs.
- Ensure timely reporting of incidents and track and complete corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) related to incidents, observations, audits, and inspections.
- Verify that all applicable and regulatory policies and procedures have been implemented on project sites.
- Supply information for HSE KPIs to the safety director to promote continuous improvement initiatives monthly.
- Injury management and incident investigation experience.
- Field safety audit and inspection experience.
- Profound knowledge of OHS legislation.
- Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
- Experience in meeting schedule expectations and delivering work on time.
- Experience and strong technical knowledge of safety procedures.
- Experience in safety training, safety investigations, safety performance indicators.
- Experienced with multi-disciplinary rail and transit projects, and/or complex civil infrastructure projects in brownfield/urban environments with adjacent infrastructure as relates to safety.
- Well-organized and superb time management skills.
- Honesty, dependability, and the ability to be relied upon, responsible, and fulfill obligations.
- Diploma or certificate in health and safety, or equivalent training and experience.
- Professional designation is preferred – NCSO, CRSP, CHSC, or equivalent.
- Direct onsite safety management experience and health and safety practices.
- Experience in railroad and/or transit construction projects.
