About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Co-op student to join our Operational Excellence Team as a Reporting and Analytics Co-op. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with our team to support the implementation of the Management Operating System (MOS) at Teck, a leading mining company in Canada.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and documentation of Standard Operating Metrics within the MOS.
  • Contribute to the creation of routine MOS reporting dashboards using PowerBI and other relevant tools.
  • Work with the Change Management team to support any change management activities related to data streams as part of the MOS.
  • Provide analytical support to the improvement effort, facilitating the prioritization of improvement opportunities and using root cause analysis to resolve day-to-day issues.
  • Collaborate with teams to identify risks, issues, and opportunities to ensure maximum business value delivered.

Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent experience in mining engineering, geological engineering, or computer science.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with site and senior leaders.
  • Solid understanding of mining industry fundamentals.
  • Experience in deploying Continuous Improvement Programs within the mining industry is an asset.
