POSITION SUMMARY:

As a member of the Business Development team, this role is instrumental in driving SE Health's growth and diversification strategies and the successful advancement of health sector partnerships. The successful incumbent will provide strategic thinking, leadership and innovation to enhance programs and services, ensuring alignment with operational and financial targets. The role also provides a unique opportunity to deepen healthcare knowledge, expand modernized care models, and excel in program excellence within a dynamic environment.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Development

Lead and advance business development initiatives enabling the ongoing growth and diversification of SE Health in accordance with its strategic plan and '8 to Great' priorities.

Identify new business opportunities provincially, nationally and internationally, positioning SE Health, through:

  • Strategic outreach and community relations
  • Relationship building with heath sector partners and participate in key forums
  • Secure funding through strategic dentification and relationship building
  • Develop standardized templates and frameworks including development of business cases, product roadmaps for new products/programs/services or initiatives

Enable revenue growth and strategic positioning for SE Health, through:

  • Sales initiatives to enhance revenue streams and market positioning
  • Serve as a key contributor to the development of proposals related to funding opportunities, invitation bids, research grants, and new business partnerships
  • Provide business development leadership in relevant RFI/RFP responses and presentations
  • Work collaboratively with leaders in professional practice, finance, operations, business transformation, and contracts to ensure the successful launch of new or expanded programs as well as supporting ongoing relationship management.
  • Create and maintain strong and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholder
  • Contribute to the advancement of SE Health's strategic plan through regular assessment and progress reporting on team and individual objectives.

Professional Leadership to Business Development

  • Leverage knowledge of system trends and current market dynamics to develop and propose cutting-edge programs to meet the needs of clients, communities, hospitals and industry stakeholders
  • Ensure high-quality and program excellence by guiding the development of care models in collaboration with Professional Practice Team, as required
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to showcase successful programs, sharing key learnings and innovative approaches through industry presentations and publications
  • Represent SE Health in project leadership roles during partnership meetings, as required.
  • Uphold professional excellence through the use of evidence-based, person-centered research and information sources.

People Leadership & Communication

  • Demonstrate effective communication skills designed to embody leadership, engage internal and external partners, and facilitate problem-solving, decision-making, collaboration, and healthy team functioning
  • Provide informal leadership and mentorship to staff with growth potential throughout the organization.

Other

  • Activities arising from required participation in various external groups (e.g., regional groups)
  • Participate with analysis and strategic planning specific to clinical practice, home care modernization, OHTs, health system trends, acute care and education products, external partners, data analysis, and quality and risk

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced or graduate degree in business administration, science, healthcare administration, or related field
  • 4-5 years' experience in a business development or operational leadership role, in a related field, preferred
  • Clinical background in nursing would be considered an asset
  • Understanding of financial, sales, procurement and operational processes associated with business development initiatives, program development and implementation
  • Understanding of current and future healthcare landscape and growing trends
  • High degree of judgement, strategic, analytical thinking, writing, communication, and complex problem-solving skills
  • Strong presentation and relationship management skills are required
  • Experience with financial planning and program budgets is preferred
  • Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects are required
  • Demonstrated understanding of quality assurance, principles of program evaluation
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with varying departments and individuals in a dynamic environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently
