Personal Support Worker - Long Term Care

As a Personal Support Worker, you will be a valued member of our Long Term Care team, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents' lives.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide resident supervision and assistance with activities of daily living, including eating, dressing, hygiene, and grooming
  • Support residents with communication and connections, including encouraging the use of sensory aids
  • Administer medication under the supervision of a registered health professional (with additional prescribed training)
  • Ensure residents have access to mobility and assistive devices
  • Provide ongoing cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support, as well as oral and dental care
  • Encourage residents to participate in programs offered by the Resident Experience Team
Requirements:
  • Completed a Personal Support Worker program from an approved college or private institution
  • Internationally Educated Nurses with a degree in Nursing are also eligible
  • Detailed-oriented and proficient in procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatment and providing bedside care
  • Exercise tact and diplomacy in working with seniors, their families, and general visitors
