Stone Installer, Polisher and Repairer needed for permanent, full-time position in Vancouver lower mainland area.

Shiny Stone Care is a leading provider of stone installation, polishing, and repair services.

Duties:
  • Prepare surfaces for installation by cleaning, leveling, and smoothing them.
  • Install tiles, stones, slabs, or veneers onto surfaces such as countertops, or facades.
  • Assess damaged stone surfaces to determine the extent of repairs needed.
  • Repair chips, cracks, or scratches in stone using appropriate fillers, adhesives, or patching materials.
  • Clean and prepare stone surfaces for polishing by removing dirt, grime, or previous coatings.
  • Select appropriate polishing compounds and abrasives based on stone type and desired finish.
  • Operate polishing machines, such as grinders or polishers, to buff and shine stone surfaces.
  • Use hand tools or small equipment for detailed or hard-to-reach areas.
  • Inspect polished surfaces for defects or imperfections and perform touch-ups as needed.
  • Follow blueprints precisely and mark and measure surfaces that need to be tiled to determine how to go about jobs.
  • Set up machines and equipment.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma.
  • At least 2-years proven work experience in the field.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Knowledge of ceramic, mosaic, marble, quarry, slate, stone and granite desirable.
  • Attention to details, overtime required, work under pressure.
  • Basic communication in English required.
  • Team player, organized, reliability.
  • Steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses and hard hat required.
