We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Coordinator to join our team at EllisDon Corporation. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in promoting a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Site Safety Management: Develop and implement site-specific safety plans, conduct regular inspections, and investigate incidents to identify areas for improvement.
- Training and Development: Design and deliver training programs on workplace safety, including WHMIS, Fall Protection, and Personal Protective Equipment.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and regulations, and identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Emergency Response: Coordinate emergency response efforts and provide first aid as needed.
- Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with employees, subcontractors, and clients to promote a safety-first culture and ensure effective communication.
- Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years of safety experience in the construction industry, with a strong background in institutional, commercial, residential, or civil projects.
- Certifications: Occupational First Aid Certificate (OFA L2 minimum), Construction Safety Officer certificate, or National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certificate for British Columbia.
- Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to delegate and influence others to follow safety rules and regulations.
- Physical Demands: Heavy physical exertion, effort, and strain, with forces exerted equivalent to lifting between 10 to 25 kilograms/pounds.
- Environmental Conditions: Exposure to moderately adverse and undesirable environmental conditions, with some health and safety risks.
