We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Palliative Complex Care Unit team at Fraser Health Authority. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to individuals living with advanced illness.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients, utilizing a patient-centered approach and collaborating with the healthcare team to develop an individualized plan of care.
- Collect and analyze patient information, using skills of observation, communication, and physical assessment to inform nursing decisions and provide timely and accurate reports.
- Consult and collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans, and participate in interdisciplinary conferences to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Act as an advocate for patients' rights, promoting autonomy, cultural competence, respect, privacy, dignity, and access to information.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and research, identifying patient care issues and contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of program goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Graduation from an approved school of Nursing and current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- One year of recent acute medical/surgical nursing or acute palliative care experience, plus completion of a certificate in the designated clinical area, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of the scope of practice of other healthcare disciplines, knowledge in the field of palliative care, and ability to apply clinical knowledge in practice.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
