THE ORGANIZATION:
Whistler Housing Authority (WHA) is seeking an experienced Specialist in Communications, Engagement and Information Management to join our team. The WHA is an innovative organization created and owned by the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) to oversee the development, administration, and management of employee restricted housing in Whistler. Embracing the goal of housing at least 75% of employees locally within Whistler, the WHA continues to maintain and grow its inventory of employee restricted housing so that secure long-term rental and ownership accommodations are available and affordable for local income earners and retirees within Whistler. Whistler is one of only a few resort communities in North America with an organization such as the WHA. The Whistler Housing Authority is seen as a leader in the development, management, and operation of a robust and community-supported affordable housing program for the local workforce. Whistler's inventory of employee restricted housing continues to increase to address the needs of our community. We aspire to attract passionate, motivated individuals to help our team innovate and shape the growth and evolution of this remarkable housing inventory.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Reporting directly to the WHA General Manager, this position will be responsible for the WHA's Employee Housing Programs' communications and engagement initiatives, as well as being a leading coordinator of the WHA's IT projects. The Communications, Engagement, and Information Management Specialist will lead the WHA's communications and engagement strategies helping to increase awareness, educate, and strengthen connections with the WHA and the Employee Housing Programs and Housing Covenants. The Communications, Engagement, and Information Management Specialist will shape and cultivate WHA brand recognition and build a stronger understanding of the mandate and impact of the WHA. The position plays a key role in engaging with a wide variety of audiences and partners to create a credible and a cohesive voice for the WHA. This position will also be responsible for managing some of the WHA's IT projects, and liaising with external technicians as necessary.

The ideal candidate is a strong, strategic communicator committed to the mission and vision of the Whistler Housing Authority and fostering a community where Whistler's workforce can be housed in safe, secure, affordable housing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The key duties and responsibilities of the WHA Communications, Engagement and Information Management Specialist include:

Communications & Engagement:

Developing and executing comprehensive communications and engagement strategies aimed at broadening and enriching public understanding and awareness of the WHA's mission and impact.Creating and delivering content for WHA's social media, e-newsletters, press releases, surveys, and community engagement initiatives.Developing and managing execution of sharp and consistent WHA branded templates & messaging.Tracking and reporting on performance metrics and analytics of WHA engagement initiatives.Compiling and delivering meaningful storytelling and testimonials on the impact of the Employee Housing Programs in Whistler.Developing and utilizing creative and engaging materials, graphics, and content to distill complex concepts related to the Employee Housing Programs.Compiling factual and impactful information to dispel myths and misunderstanding of the WHA and Employee Housing Programs.Expanding opportunities to connect with community partners to ensure alignment in communicating key messaging and priorities.Hosting public information sessions to share relevant information about the WHA and Employee Housing initiatives.
Information Management & Technology:Oversight of policies and procedures for the safe and secure information management of the WHA's IT systems, WHA website, cyber and privacy security needs, including records management and retention policies.Assisting with the ongoing implementation and customization of WHA's ARCORI software platform.Managing content, edits and updates to WHA website.
Employee Housing Program Advocacy, Education & Enforcement:Preparing and presenting to the WHA Board of Directors and community partners, as needed.Being a knowledgeable and credible advocate for the Employee Housing Programs by sharing and articulating factual information related to Whistler's unique workforce housing model.Managing the WHA's annual Statutory Occupancy Declaration process, on behalf of the RMOW.Working on education, enforcement, audits, and compliance for Whistler's Employee Housing Covenants and inventory in collaboration with the RMOW.Completing other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time by the WHA General Manager and/or Board of Directors to assist the team and mandate of the organization.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESQualified candidates will have completed post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, Information Technology, or Business Administration training.Essential skills for the position are the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, can reliably meet deadlines, and exercise sound professional judgement, credible decision-making, and diligence for risk management.The ideal candidate is deeply passionate about making a positive impact in our community and gets motivated from working with others who share this passion to achieve bold goals.You are innovative and forward-thinking with an ability to leverage a range of technologies and engagement strategies to support WHA's impact and efforts to provide more affordable housing solutions for our community.You have sound knowledge of the principles and processes of communications and best practices for community engagement, particularly within a public sector environment.You are adept with the use of graphic design software and programs.You have excellent time management skills and attention to detail.You are proficient in the use of a wide variety of software tools and systems including, but not limited to Microsoft Office applications.You have a strong aptitude for digital information systems and software platforms.You have some experience using Mailchimp, Formstack, WordPress, and Shopify.You are considered an excellent communicator with the ability to explain complex ideas and processes in an accessible manner with strong written, verbal, and visual presenting skills.You have experience with managing business social media platforms.You are proficient in proofreading and editing content.You have experience with scoping and mapping workflows for digital innovation, transformations, and change management.You excel at connecting, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts and partners.You can respond effectively to challenging enquiries from the public and to analyze, problem-solve and mediate difficult situations.You know how to handle confidential and sensitive information in an appropriate manner.You thrive in a small, collaborative, cross-functional team environment.You are flexible, adaptable, enthusiastic, self-motivated, proactive, and willing to help others on the team with a 'can do' attitude.
SCHEDULE & COMPENSATIONStart Date is as soon as possible.This position is full-time, providing 72 hours of employment every two weeks year-round, with a flex-work day every second week.There is flexibility between office and home/remote working, with the expectation of at least three full days of work in the WHA office, working with the team.A competitive and comprehensive compensation and benefits package will be provided commensurate with the affordable housing sector, education, and experience.
Salary Range: $40-$46 per hour.
