Job Summary:

As a Mountain Adventures Trail Crew Member you will be primarily responsible for aiding with various tasks including but not limited to the preliminary clearing of the instillation alignment, removal of materials as well as the leveling, grading and shaping of alignment for the mountain coaster. Under direct supervision from the Mountain Adventures Director assist other departments with manual tasks, clean up and tear-down, transport, fencing, and on occasion are expected to assist with line control and other guest related duties.

Essential Job Functions:

  • General maintenance/prepping of trails, primarily brush cutting, brush chipping and chain sawing
  • General laboring duties
  • Assisting with construction project
  • Loading and unloading construction materials
  • Mixing, pouring and spreading materials such as concrete, mulch and fill
  • Assist heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and aid in other activities
  • Performing construction and maintenance on power tools while out in the field
  • Daily maintenance of power tools at beginning/end of shift
  • Adhering to all mountain policies and regulations at all times on or off the job
  • Cheerfully interacting with guests and staff and willing to go above and beyond to help guests
  • Punctual, in uniform, and adhering to the grooming policy
  • Demonstrating safe work practices and mandatory use of PPE
  • Assisting other departments with manual tasks
  • Cleaning up or assisting trade workers with special tasks
  • Assisting with transport of goods around the mountain top area
  • Other duties as required

Required Qualifications and Abilities

  • Previous experience in trail building, construction or mechanical experience (required)
  • Must be in excellent physical condition and hard-working
  • Functional knowledge of mountain operations an asset
  • OFA Level 3 an asset
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Experience/certification in the use of a chainsaw and/or brush cutter is preferred
  • Must be a team player and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Understanding of Risk Management for construction sites
  • Valid driver's license (required)

Working Conditions

  • Trail Crew perform most of their duties outdoors and may work in all different kinds of weather conditions.
  • Hours of operation are weather dependent. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include rotation of shifts, day/evening shifts, and weekends and statutory holidays.
  • Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, shoveling, and other forms of manual tasks.

Compensation and Benefits

$18.66/hour up to $21.82/hour
