About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Monitoring Unit team at Fraser Health Authority.

As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will provide direct patient care to patients undergoing cardiac procedures, including cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, and transesophageal echocardiograms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients and collect information from various sources to determine the best course of care
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interprofessional care team
  • Provide education to patients and families on illness prevention, health restoration, and health maintenance
  • Collaborate with the care team to ensure comprehensive care planning and delivery
  • Participate in research and quality improvement activities to improve patient care
  • Maintain and update current clinical competence and knowledge within the area of practice
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Completion of Cardiology component of Post Basic Critical Care course, or post basic High Acuity Course, approved Arrhythmia interpretation course plus one (1) year's recent experience in cardiac monitoring or telemetry unit, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Current Basic Rescuer Certificate
Skills and Abilities
  • Clinical proficiency in the designated clinical area
  • Ability to complete initial and ongoing patient assessment and provide nursing care through appropriate/prescribed technical, therapeutic, safety type interventions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families/care givers, and members of the interprofessional care team
  • Ability to promote person-centered care that demonstrates empathy for patients and families/care givers, sensitivity to diverse cultures and preferences, and patient advocacy
  • Ability to integrate and evaluate data from multiple sources to problem-solve effectively
