Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse I

Location: Pleasant View Towers-LTC

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse I to join our team at Pleasant View Towers-LTC. As a valued member of our Resident Care Team, you will provide quality nursing care to residents, assisting with daily living activities, personal care, and promoting independent living.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality nursing care to residents, including assisting with daily living activities and personal care
  • Assess and promote independent living, addressing physical, social, and spiritual needs
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional team to develop and implement care plans
  • Supervise and support Personal Care Attendants, monitoring resident outcomes and adjusting care plans as needed
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, frequently interacting with residents, families, and healthcare professionals

Job Demands:

  • Regularly requires physical exertion, handling, and moving objects between 25-50 lbs
  • Regularly requires standing, walking, and working in awkward positions
  • Regularly requires visual concentration, giving medications, reading orders/referrals, and observing patients

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing program
  • Current licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador
  • Current BLS certification
  • Gerontology experience preferred
  • Knowledge of seniors' issues and support best practices in gerontological care
  • Ability to deal effectively with end-of-life issues
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently
