Electrical Co-Op/Intern Position

We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Student to join our team at Stantec. As a member of our Buildings practice, you will be part of a collaborative environment where you will work on building electrical systems and contribute to the design and development of innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of CAD and Revit drawings from sketches or mark-ups for buildings and non-buildings related projects
  • Load calculations, voltage drop, and short circuit calculations
  • Production of layout drawings for tender, construction, and record drawings
  • Preparations of single line diagrams and control schematics
  • Completion of photometric lighting calculations
  • Support of Project coordination, management, and working in a team-based environment
  • Assistance to engineers and project managers in:
  • Completion of motor, communications, security, and lighting schedules
  • The selection of electrical equipment, overcurrent protection devices, and wiring methods
  • Preparation of technical reports
  • Project coordination including interfacing with clients and contractors

Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented team player who has the ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated organization and planning skills and has an ability to work within tight deadlines
  • Power related courses and previous consulting experience and knowledge would be considered an asset
  • A working knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT, and/or lighting software would be considered an asset

Education and Experience:

  • Working toward a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or similar
