Halifax Water is seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Pumping Station Service Person Apprentice in the Wastewater and Stormwater Services Department.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the delivery of essential water services to our customers.
Responsibilities:- Perform scheduled and emergency repair and maintenance of sewage pumping stations and related infrastructure.
- Operate a variety of equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner.
- Work in all weather conditions, inside and outside, and in noisy and confined spaces.
- Be subject to emergency call-ins after working hours.
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Completion of a minimum one-year technical diploma in a relevant field (e.g. Industrial Mechanical, Power Engineering, Marine Engineering, Auto Mechanical).
- A valid Class 5 Nova Scotia Driver's license.
- Two years of experience working in a similar environment, with pumps/motors/controls and similar equipment and tools.
