Radiological Technologist, Screening Mammography/General Procedures Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiological Technologist to join our team at Langley Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging department, you will be responsible for performing routine screening mammography, diagnostic radiography/fluoroscopy, and other medical imaging procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general duty radiographic/fluoroscopic and screening mammography procedures in accordance with established standards, procedures, and radiation protection practices.
- Operate radiographic and computerized imaging equipment, maintaining and updating records in the Radiology Information System (RIS) and checking resultant images for technical quality.
- Prepare program participants for screening mammography, explaining the procedure and providing directions for participation.
- Assist program participants with completing questionnaires, ensuring they are completed prior to leaving the centre.
- Promote education in the area of breast cancer and risk factors, increasing participant adherence to screening mammography and breast self-examination guidelines.
- Collect and document relevant clinical data for procedures, providing individualized patient care.
- Prepare contrast agents and tray set-ups for procedures, disposing of items according to hospital policy.
- Monitor patient care and safety, ensuring procedures adhere to department standards and policies.
- Participate in quality improvement and risk management procedures, maintaining patient and hospital records.
- Provide input into departmental Continuous Quality Improvement/LEAN programs, using established monitoring and auditing methodologies.
- Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
- Successful completion of CAMRT Mammography 1 or equivalent.
- One year's recent, related experience in Mammography procedures and recent, related experience performing general radiographic procedures.
