Job Title: Associate Physician, Pediatric Neurology

BC Children's and Women's Hospital & Health Centre is seeking an Associate Physician to join our Pediatric Neurology team.

Job Summary:

The Associate Physician will practice under the direction and supervision of an attending physician in Pediatric Neurology and work in a structured, team-based, specialty care setting to sustain capacity and service delivery. The AP will function as a member of the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Neurology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the Pediatric Neurology inpatient/consultation service, including rounds, new consultations, and admissions.
  • Perform and document admission history and physical examinations, progress notes, discharge summaries, medication reconciliations, and communicate with families and consultant physicians.
  • Manage the day-to-day care of patients, including writing medical orders, responding to emergencies, and arranging consultations with other departments.
  • Participate in outpatient Neurology clinics, including urgent consultations, and assess new patients under the supervision of the Pediatric Neurology attending.
  • Document in accordance with CPSBC and organizational standards, policies, and guidelines.
Qualifications:
  • Medical degree from a school listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of accredited postgraduate training in Pediatric Neurology, verified by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).
  • Successful completion of Part 1 of the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) or Steps 1 through 3 of the United States Medical Licensing Examinations (USMLEs).
  • Must meet the CPSBC's English language proficiency requirements.
  • Must be eligible for registration with the CPSBC in the Associate Physician class.
  • Have Canadian Citizenship, be a permanent resident, or be legally able to live and work in British Columbia.
