Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology Chemo

BC Cancer is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in Surrey, BC. As a Registered Nurse in our Oncology Chemo department, you will play a vital role in providing holistic nursing care to patients with cancer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, intervention, symptom management, treatment coordination and administration, teaching, counselling, support and follow up.
  • Collaborate with patients, family, and multidisciplinary team members to develop treatment/care plans.
  • Administer medications, injections, blood products and IV fluids as required by the care plan.
  • Maintain patient records and collect and document patient information and health care history.
  • Admit, transfer or discharge patients according to BC Cancer policies and Centre directives.
  • Assist patients in interpreting their care plan and refer them to other health care professionals and programs as required.
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients, families, and staff by adhering to emergency procedures and safety policies and standards.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives.
  • One (1) year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action and other related reports.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada.
