About the Role

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will work under the direction of Management to support the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (PLM) team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Specimen procurement, receipt, and processing
  • Data entry and media/reagent/smear preparation
  • Supply management, troubleshooting, and customer service activities
  • Positive patient identification and accurate specimen handling

About You

We're looking for a candidate with:

  • A recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant Program or equivalent
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Ability to accurately number/label specimens and file slides/requisitions
  • Basic computer skills, with Meditech experience preferred
  • Access to reliable transportation for travel
  • Competencies in other languages, with French an asset
