About the Opportunity

The Medical Laboratory Assistant plays a vital role in the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine department, working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and efficient laboratory testing. Key responsibilities include specimen procurement, data entry, media preparation, and customer service activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

About You

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual with a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent. The successful candidate will have successfully completed the Medical Laboratory Assistant examinations of the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science and have current registration with CSMLS. Strong computer skills, particularly in Meditech, are also essential. The ability to adapt to updates and changes in operating procedures is crucial. We welcome applications from individuals with a basic understanding of medical terminology and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent, part-time position with 37.5 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $23.19 - $26.27. Successful candidates may be eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
