Reporting to the Organizational Development Lead, Engagement and Culture, The Inclusivity and Accessibility Coordinator provides effective, efficient, and timely support services to assist in the overall implementation of the NSLC's IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility) strategies and initiatives. This position is also responsible for the management of the NSLC's annual diversity calendar, relevant event coordination and project support (including the NSLC's accessibility plan) and management of relevant resources. This role also provides administrative and liaison support in the form of scheduling meetings, onboarding students, working with community partners, and organizing stakeholder involvement during relevant project planning processes and collaborating with other team members for learning, training, and education purposes.

Qualifications

As a qualified candidate you will have:

  • An undergraduate degree in a related area
  • A minimum of 2-5 years' related experience
  • Experience with event management and project coordination
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (primarily Excel and PowerPoint)

As an ideal candidate you will have:

  • Aware of the barriers experienced by marginalized communities and persons with lived experience
  • Experience creating content for internal communications
Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with IDEA project stakeholders including team members from learning and development, community responsibility, communications, and external community groups to support the delivery of equity and inclusion related initiatives
  • Manage the execution of the NSLC's annual diversity calendar and events
  • Provide administrative support to projects and strategies being led by the Manager-Inclusivity and Accessibility
  • Manage execution of communication plans for strategic initiatives including drafting relevant content
  • Manage and update the NSLC's IDEA Swizzle page
  • Manage all aspects of event planning including budget, sourcing venues and resourcing guest speakers and community advocates and experts.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the Learning & Development Team to roll out relevant training and education initiatives as needed to meet diversity and equity related outcomes
  • Build and maintain excellent positive relationships with all team members
  • Be a motivated member of the NSLC's Accessibility Advisory Committee and relevant employee resource groups; provide admin support before, after and during meetings
  • Serve as co-chair for committee meetings as needed
  • Support administration of relevant project budgets
  • Prepare and edit PowerPoint presentations on relevant topics
  • Support the onboarding and welcoming of students hired within the People and Culture department
  • Demonstrate commitment to NSLC's Values
  • Demonstrate commitment to the NSLC's social responsibility mandate
  • Demonstrate commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
