We are seeking a skilled Welder & Fitter to join our team. As a Welder & Fitter, you will work in a designated welding station, read and interpret welding diagrams, and fit and weld structural steel sheets and tubes. You will perform MIG (GMAW) welding up to several feet in one weld with widths of 10-25mm depending on the job and your skill level. Additionally, you will grind down welds and operate various machines to form metal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform MIG (GMAW) welding up to several feet in one weld with widths of 10-25mm
  • Read and interpret welding diagrams
  • Fitting and welding structural steel sheets and tubes
  • Grind down welds and operate various machines to form metal

Requirements:

  • MIG Welding experience - Vertical, Horizontal
  • Fitting experience
  • Ability to read and interpret welding diagrams
  • Accurately take measurements and convert units of measurement
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces (4-5ft diameter cylinder)

Soft Skills:

  • Approachability
  • Willingness to lend a hand

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 3 months.

Work Environment: You will work in a very large, well-organized, and maintained welding shop. The environment can be hot when it's hot outside, but there are lots of fans and large bay doors open for air circulation. The work culture is great; everyone is very approachable and willing to help.

Compensation: The pay starts at $23 - $25 per hour and can go up to $36 per hour. Overtime is offered after 40 hours, and there is double-time on Sundays. All overtime is optional.
