We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our Servicing & Infrastructure Approval team in Regina, Saskatchewan, to perform professional engineering duties related to the City's water & wastewater systems. Job Description:

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing preliminary designs for water & wastewater projects, reviewing drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with City Design Standards, and developing and managing projects and budgets. You will also be responsible for approving expenditures and other transactions within limits of authority, and preparing technical and business reports for presentations and public responses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare preliminary designs for water & wastewater projects.
  • Review drawings, specifications, plans, and technical reports to ensure compliance with City Design Standards.
  • Develop and manage projects and budgets.
  • Approve expenditures and other transactions within limits of authority.
  • Prepare technical and business reports for presentations and public responses.
  • Represent the Department and participate in meetings with other departments, public meetings, and meetings with consultants and contractors.
Key Qualifications:
  • A University Engineering degree such as Civil, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of engineering experience in a related field of water & wastewater municipal infrastructure.
  • Registration as a professional engineer in the Province of Saskatchewan.
  • Experience in land development and working with WaterCAD and lnfoWorks modelling software is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of municipal service delivery, land development, and water & wastewater infrastructure, management, standards, and operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and specialized analysis software (WaterCAD & lnfoWorks).
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and administration of municipal water & wastewater systems.
  • Familiarity with organization, supervision, and administration principles, and the Provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Skilled in project management, presentations, group discussions, and communicating ideas.
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive reports for management and City Council, and communicate to large audiences.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and coordination skills.
  • Team-oriented with an ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and develop initiatives aligned with corporate goals.
  • Capable of performing standard engineering computations.
Working Conditions:
  • Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Saskatchewan.
  • Must possess a valid Class Five (5) driver's license and have a vehicle available for work usage.
Additional Requirements:
  • Successful candidate may be required to obtain and provide a satisfactory criminal record check.
  • Successful candidate will be required to provide proof of acquired education.
  • Additional assessments may be conducted to evaluate competencies, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
