Job Summary: We are seeking a Support Service Worker to join our team at Selkirk Mental Health Centre. As a Support Service Worker, you will provide services to patients, staff, and community partners, including a clean environment, food service, porter/laundry services, supply replenishment, equipment maintenance, transportation, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide housekeeping and food service in a healthcare environment
  • Assist with customer service and respond to patient needs
  • Operate cleaning equipment and maintain a clean environment
  • Assist with food preparation and handling
  • Transport patients and staff as needed
  • Provide security services and maintain a safe environment

Requirements:

  • Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards
  • Valid Class 5 Manitoba driver's license (desired)
  • Ability to work safely and prioritize daily tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of cleaning practices and equipment
  • Knowledge of food preparation and equipment
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work on feet for extended periods
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (inside, outside, high humidity)
  • Ability to work varying shifts and weekends, including statutory holidays
