Wage: $22 - $30 / hour
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Canola Parent Seed Production Specialist to join our team in Kamloops, BC.
About the Role
- Assist in the production of parent seed with a focus on meeting both yield and quality standards.
- Be involved in all aspects of parent seed production, including organization and execution of parent seed activities from seeding to harvesting.
- Site preparation, planting, spraying, volunteer control, roguing, crop inspection, pollination, harvest activities, site cleanup, and all other required production activities.
- Quality Control and supervision of casual employees and grower relations.
- Monitor the health of the crop as it matures and provide data and recommendations.
Education:
- Agronomic knowledge attained through pursuing your degree in Agriculture or related discipline.
Experience:
- Experience in the agriculture/natural science industry.
Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as contribute to a dynamic team environment.
- Proven ability to deliver results.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Class 3 driver's license or Heavy Trailer Endorsement would be considered an asset.
