Job Description:

Our client is on the search for a Lead Estimator, Pipe Services, to enhance their preconstruction team in Toronto, ON. This role involves working closely with a dynamic team of estimators and proposal specialists, focusing on the rehabilitation of aging infrastructure such as pipes, mains, culverts, vaults, and utility holes.

Responsibilities:

  • Uphold and advocate for a strong safety culture among all employees, vendors, and customers, adhering to safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Support the team during the tendering phase, compiling accurate, timely, and organized estimates and project documents.
  • Analyze drawings and specifications, coordinate the tender process, and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Participate in site walkthroughs, meetings, review geotechnical conditions, and prepare risk assessments and take-offs.
  • Contribute to the management of major rehabilitation projects from inception to completion.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating rehabilitation projects for pipe services, familiar with various project delivery methods.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Bluebeam, MS Project, and Heavy Bid (HCSS).
  • Expertise in slip lining, CIPP, and SIPP techniques.
  • Skilled in negotiating pricing while maintaining integrity and strong supplier/vendor relationships.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite and a willingness to travel throughout Canada is preferred.
