Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Designer to join our team at Viking. As a Fire Protection Designer, you will be responsible for designing and developing automatic fire sprinkler systems, ensuring compliance with current codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Prepare detailed drawings and plans for fire protection systems using AutoCAD, Revit, and HydraCAD software.
  • Sketching and Drawing: Reproduce and draw sketches, drawings, and plans to visualize system designs.
  • System Coordination: Arrange sprinklers on drawings in accordance with current standards and verify drawings against established procedures.
  • BIM Coordination: Participate in project meetings and coordinate with project managers and other trades for project modeling.
  • Material Procurement: Order materials based on coordinated drawings using HydraList.
  • Field Surveys: Conduct field surveys for installation drawings.
Requirements
  • Education: Diploma in Fire Protection Engineering Technology or Design, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of fire protection drafting experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer-assisted design with AutoCAD, knowledge of HydraCAD (an asset), and knowledge of standards and codes governing design and installation of automatic fire protection systems.
  • Personal Qualities: Valid driver's license and vehicle.
