About the Role

The Senior Animator at Zoic Studios is responsible for creating high-quality, engaging, and naturalistic performances for CG characters and objects. This role requires a deep understanding of traditional animation principles, acting, performance, layout, and composition for feature film production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement creative solutions for complex animation shots
  • Collaborate with directors and supervisors to ensure the highest quality of animation
  • Meet production deadlines and deliver high-quality work
  • Assist in mentoring junior animators and advising production and technology teams on animation toolsets and software
  • Produce work in accordance with the look and feel of a stop motion production while adhering to established style guidelines
Requirements
  • 5+ years' experience as a CG Character Animator in the entertainment industry
  • Expertise in traditional animation principles, acting, performance, layout, and composition for feature film production
  • Strong knowledge of Maya animation tools and workflow
  • Experience working in a visual effects pipeline
  • Experience working with motion capture data and crowds
  • Firm grasp of technical animation issues including character effects and rigging
Additional Information
  • British Columbia Employees Pay Range: $50 - $65
  • Candidates MUST be located in the Lower Mainland, British Columbia
  • Zoic does not cover relocation costs
  • Any and all remote positions require the candidate to have a reliable internet connection via ethernet and work on Pacific Standard Time
