Senior Animator

Sony Pictures Imageworks is a leading animation studio that values creativity and innovation. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Animator to join our team.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a talented Senior Animator to create high-quality animated characters and objects that meet the required direction. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the principles of animation, knowledge of applicable software packages, and experience in fine art and animation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Animates characters and objects that meet required direction
- Utilizes traditional methods and computer graphics systems to create desired performance of digital characters within a shot
- Emphasizes conveying emotion through a combination of body language and facial expressions/dialog as required by each specific project
- Meets schedules and show deadlines, participates in dailies, rounds, and team reviews of work in progress
- Interacts with production, supervisors, and team/peers to problem-solve and share information related to show/assigned tasks
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of the principles of animation
- Knowledge of applicable software packages, including Maya
- Background or experience in fine art that shows a thorough understanding of physical motion, weight, balance, and form
- Knowledge of human and animal anatomy as well as life drawing skills
- Minimum requirement of 3+ years production experience or feature film experience
Benefits:
The anticipated base salary for this position is $45.34 to $58.51/hr. Benefits include healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSP's, Sick and Vacation leave, and standard increases as applicable.
