About the Role

The Snow School Supervisor is a key member of our team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our snow school programs. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and guide staff to deliver exceptional customer service and high-quality instruction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise snow school programs, including staff training and on-hill supervision
  • Manage class sizes and quality of snow school programs and lessons
  • Act as a point of contact for parents during lesson assignment and program feedback
  • Assist staff in creating clear and open lines of communication with program participants and parents
  • Support hiring and training of ski and snowboard instructors
  • Ensure high-quality instruction by providing regular instructor feedback and contributing to performance reviews
  • Assist with administrative duties, including staff scheduling
  • Contribute to program planning by providing input on programming and staffing decisions
  • Liaise with snow school volunteers and staff, other departments, and the public to ensure communication and customer service excellence
  • Work in accordance with Conservation Halton's Safety Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of CSIA and CASI teaching methodologies
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Experience with people management and a demonstrated ability to create a positive work environment
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and class management skills
  • Ability to adapt to the daily challenges associated with the operation of the Snow School
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, Dayforce, Outlook)
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time
  • Successful candidates must be active members of CASI/CSIA/CSCF prior to first day of employment
  • Successful candidates must provide own ski or snowboarding equipment
