About the Opportunity

As a Pharmacist with Nova Scotia Health, you will play a vital role in providing direct pharmaceutical care to inpatients and outpatients as part of an interdisciplinary care team. Your duties will include patient counseling, medication monitoring, student mentoring, drug utilization reviews, and liaison with Community Pharmacists. You will also participate in clinical pharmacy research and education/drug information.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist who possesses the following qualifications:

  • Graduate of a recognized School of Pharmacy
  • Eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists
  • Completion of a Hospital pharmacy residency program and/or equivalent related direct patient care experience (minimal 2 years) in a hospital setting

Additionally, you should have:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Knowledge of medication patient safety therapeutics
  • Strong teaching ability and experience
  • Experience in critical appraisal of scientific literature
  • Proven effective oral and written communication skills
  • Experience as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Ability to prioritize work responsibilities and work well under time pressures
  • Demonstrated interest in professional development and lifelong learning
Hours

This is a long-assignment position with a 100% FTE and 75 hours bi-weekly. The assignment is approximately 1 year.
