Job Title: Intermediate Environmental Scientist

Vertex Resource Group is seeking a highly skilled Intermediate Environmental Scientist to join our team. As an Environmental Scientist, you will play a critical role in managing and executing upstream oil and gas and industrial projects in accordance with Vertex guidelines and project scopes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and execute environmental projects, including reclamation and remediation, from initial site selection to project completion.
  • Develop and implement work plans, cost estimates, and monitoring programs to ensure effective project execution.
  • Conduct site assessments, inspections, and monitoring to identify potential environmental impacts and develop strategies for mitigation.
  • Collaborate with clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders to ensure project success and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Mentor and coach junior environmental staff to develop their skills and expertise.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or higher education in environmental sciences, biology, or a related field.
  • Professional designation or in-training designation applicable for conducting professional sign-off in Alberta.
  • Minimum 3-7 years of environmental work experience, including phase I and II program execution, remediation, reclamation, groundwater monitoring, spill response, and detailed site assessments.
  • Project management experience, including cost estimates, scheduling, budget tracking, and client interactions.
  • Excellent communication, technical reporting, and time management skills.
