Seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse to provide person-centered care to individuals with mental health and substance use disorders in a community or acute setting.

About the Role
  • Provide treatment and care management services to individuals with mental health and substance use disorders
  • Collaborate with interprofessional care teams to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans
  • Conduct mental health assessments, administer prescribed medications, and monitor client response to treatment
  • Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients and their informal support networks
  • Provide education and support to clients and their families on managing mental health and substance use issues
Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate care for clients by collaborating with interprofessional care teams and performing intake functions
  2. Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive treatment plans based on client needs and best practices
  3. Administer prescribed medications and monitor client response to treatment
  4. Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients and their informal support networks
  5. Provide education and support to clients and their families on managing mental health and substance use issues
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • One (1) year of recent, related experience providing treatment services to individuals with mental health and/or concurrent disorders in a community or acute setting
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and access to personal vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage
