About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Information Systems Analyst to join our team at the Provincial Health Services Authority. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining, testing, and validating our laboratory information systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and test laboratory information systems to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Investigate and correct laboratory system errors, working to resolution by following established procedures.
  • Provide training and support to laboratory staff on the use of laboratory information systems.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of laboratory information systems.
  • Participate in the development of changes and enhancements to laboratory information systems to ensure they meet current medical laboratory practice requirements.
  • Assist in the implementation of new technology and procedures, working closely with the LIS Coordinator and administrative leader.
  • Perform quality assurance activities, including following up on incident reports and evaluating data to improve laboratory information systems.
  • Design and develop reports for clinical and laboratory business purposes, including billing recovery and test utilization reports.
Requirements
  • Graduation from a recognized program in Medical Laboratory Science and certification with the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS).
  • Three (3) years recent, related experience as a Laboratory Technologist, including recent involvement in LIS maintenance and testing.
  • Diploma in Information Technology or related field, supplemented with courses in communications and/or customer service.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory information systems and ability to keep up-to-date with new developments in information technology.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with laboratory staff and other stakeholders.
